COVID -19 UPDATE FROM SVP DAN REED

Here are today’s updates:
1. Today’s @theU contains a summary of our faculty and student educational survey, conducted last fall: https://attheu.utah.edu/facultystaff/online-learning-survey-results/ Each Dean has a copy of the detailed survey results for their college, which may be useful for departments and faculty to plan for spring. Thank you to everyone who participated and offered insights and perspectives
2. @theU also contains the latest update on our spring coronavirus testing plan; see https://attheu.utah.edu/facultystaff/spring-semester-covid-19-testing-information/ Briefly:
a. The U will be offering asymptomatic COVID-19 testing for all faculty, staff and students.
b. In addition to weekly testing for students living on campus, students visiting campus for in-person classes will also have the opportunity to be tested each week. ach Thursday throughout the semester students will be notified via their Umail account and text with information about how to schedule a test during the coming week.
c. Asymptomatic COVID-19 testing is available for all U of U faculty and staff who have NOT been identified as a close contact by a contact tracing team but still have concerns and would like to be tested.
3. As we have seen greater clarity on the U’s finances, we are raising the financial limit on purchases that require VP approval to $100,000.
