On March 1, 2021, the Academic Senate considered a request by student Senators to endorse a Resolution previously adopted by ASUU with regard to domestic violence and the inclusion of Lauren's Promise on course syllabi. After extended discussion, the Senate approved the following motion:
The Academic Senate endorses the spirit of ASUU Joint Resolution No. 6 (JR6) and encourages the adaptation of this resolution at other institutions of higher education in the state of Utah as an effort to promote a culture of safety on campus and raise awareness of the problem of interpersonal violence and encourages faculty to consider incorporating Lauren's Promise in their syllabi, department, and college mission statements/values.
