Student Behavior Committee
Committee Description
Serves as a campus-wide committee with jurisdiction to hear all charges of student misconduct against individual students, undergraduate or graduate, except for those offenses which are delegated from time to time to other committees by explicit action of the Board of Trustees; has authority to impose appropriate sanctions for established acts of student misconduct; reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services.
Membership
The Student Behavior Committee shall consist of a pool of at least 25 members. Eight members shall be faculty appointed by the president of the University upon nomination by the Personnel and Elections Committee of the Academic Senate. Eight members shall be staff appointed by the president upon nomination by the vice president for student affairs. Nine members shall be students appointed by the president upon nomination by the vice president for student affairs, in consultation with the president of ASUU. At least three of the students shall be graduate students.
Ex Officio Members
The Dean of Students and the Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards shall serve as ex officio members.
